Ramesh Begar hails from the holy town of Sringeri in Karnataka and is a director of plays, movies and an arist of 5th century traditional art, Yakshagana. Ramesh has had the honour of being nominated to the prestigious Karnataka Yakshagana Academy, twice.

Ramesh has had the privilege to learn Yakshagana from the renowned artist Sri Kalinga Navada, drama from Mr. Umesh Kasaravalli and filmmaking from parallel cinema pioneer, Mr. Girish Kasaravalli. Ramesh has directed 100 plays exhibited over a 1000 times and directed more than 600 TV episodes across national channels like Doordarshan and ZeeTV.

Ramesh's career has been blessed through his multilingual VCD on 8th century philosopher-saint Śrī Ādi Śaṅkara, produced by Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri. Ramesh also runs Sri Bharati Theertha Cultural and Folk Research Trust, an NGO promoting local art and activities.

Shudda Saveri is Ramesh's latest creation, coming after a 11 year break.
